What Will Item Upgrading Be Like In 100 Years?
World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to boost the gear score of an item to 700, and then add a final perk. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you decide to take them to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading due to their unique stats. (For example an excellently rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade and aren't worth it.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats like the chance to crit, attack damage as well as PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons have a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Some weapons also come with an unaffected bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a single unit. This bonus can sometimes be greater than the damage a weapon upgrade can do on its own.
A weapon's upgrade costs depend on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For instance an item with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while the +3 model requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will increase until it requires a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.
Upgrades to weapons can also reroll the stats of the base. While this is usually a good thing but it can also have negative consequences too. For items that are only used in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs for instance) upgrading them can render them useless unless you happen to have an extremely lucky roll.
Upgrades can be made to armor items to increase their effectiveness. This can increase the base defense of a helm or chest as well as belts and gloves. These can boost their strength and agility. Armor also offers an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense percent, which means that it can sometimes roll back to a lower number.
The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats it will gain upon upgrading, along with the relative value of those stats. This means that the weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will hit 3 times less often because it's an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button in the item menu with the arrows that circle. The item will be rerolled and change its statistics, but not reset the weapon's levels or tie it to the account status.
Armor
A few tweaks to your armor could make a huge differences in your ability to survive. Certain sets offer massive increases in resistance to curses, poison and fire as well as magic. This makes it easier to traverse difficult areas. In general, the greater defense your character is, the more value you get out of each point of health you possess and it's crucial to upgrade your armor as much as possible.
To upgrade your armor, head to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains available in the game, and to unlock them all, you must complete an additional quest that involves the Stable Trotters. Once you've completed the primary side quest and completed the corresponding fountain, you can then speak to any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.
The amount of materials needed to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. In general, you'll be looking at anywhere between three Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the initial upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent upgrade. The Champion Leathers, as an example, can be upgraded to an increase of 5 defense rating, which allows you to keep up in cold environments with a lot of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other side, can be upgraded as high as +20 defense to ensure you can survive a raid with friends.
You can't upgrade armor the same as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor for physical power or spell power. It is recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you will still be wearing at the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
You can also unlock some advantages to your armor by giving the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. Generally speaking, you'll want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer However, it is useful to have a few upgrades of the chest armor and helmets that let you stealthy battle some monsters.
upgrade item are liquids that when consumed by a player, provide an immediate effect for a short period of time. There are five different types of potions, each having particular effects and durations. Some potions may be upgraded, increasing their level of effect. Alternatively, the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust them.
Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP. This can be earned by making them using a craft table or in an Alchemist's chest. However, the cost of upgrading changes depending on what kind of potion you wish to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level and Rarity.
To upgrade a potion, right-click it in your inventory. Select "Upgrade" from the menu. This opens an GUI where you can choose the potions you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they will yield when upgraded. Upgrades to potions can be made in batches of up to five at a time and the XP they earn will be added to your current XP count.
When a poton is upgraded and stored, it will not degrade unless you use it again or break the bottle in the container it is kept. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to change the name of the potion.
There were some changes to potion mechanics in version 1.7.2. Splash potions, for instance are now available with a time of 0:08 instead of the 22.5 seconds shown on the item hover display. The table for potion is now crafted from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It can now be used in both Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions cannot be mixed in cauldrons. This is the same for using a potion in an empty cauldron. This will drain the liquid, and then refill the bottle.
In addition, there are lingering potions that are brewed using splash and dragon breath potions. In the same way, a lingering potion effect can be extended by adding redstone to it. The table of potions is laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as potion of leaping, decomposition potion, as well as turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket is a tiny and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It could also refer to an object or ornament that serves a purpose, but is not particularly significant like a trinket. In certain cultures, a trinket is used to express friendship or affection between family members.
Players can upgrade trinkets in addition to weapons or armor, as well as potions. Upgrades can be obtained by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets unlike other items that can be upgraded, can be exchanged at any time without losing stats.
Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of every zone and in some cases in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available using tokens, gold or fragments of trinkets that are rare.
Upgrades are a cheaper alternative to purchasing a new trinket. It is possible to upgrade a player for just 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base level as the old trinket, but it also comes with an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.
Once the old Trinkets are no longer usable they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase their power and value with time. They can also be traded between players and are a popular alternative to gold.
In general players should upgrade their highest priority items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, then their secondary items and finally, other items of gear they won't replace in the near future (for instance, a ring or cloak). Players should also consider their class's preferred stats when deciding the items to upgrade. For instance when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tanks it is recommended that they upgrade their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and chest.
Trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher ilvl after they no longer have value and the new trinket will receive an additional upgrade bonus of 1. Re-upgrading will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it is salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades but still less expensive than buying new ones.
